Colon Cleansing Diet Plans
You may have already heard of the importance of keeping your colon clean, which often includes participation in one of the many variations of colon cleansing diet plans. This often involves a change in lifestyle chosen in conjunction with an effective colon cleansing fast or flushing regimen.
Basic Colon Cleansing Dieting Tips
One of the first steps to cleansing your colon is to make changes in your diet, at least temporarily. The most important aspect of a colon cleansing diet is to cut out all harmful toxins, which are often included in certain types of foods.
If you are going to participate in a colon cleansing diet, you are going to want to eliminate some of the following foods from your diet: coffee, alcohol, sodas, fast food, excess beef, and certain fish. You also would want to cut out starchy foods such as white bread, potatoes, and pasta.
In fact, for a short period of time you may even want to go on a colon cleansing fast, which usually includes only foods that are high in water content. These include a variety of fruits and vegetables such as watermelon, oranges, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, and spinach. Perhaps you would eat vegetable soup, applesauce, or similar foods during this time.
Another type of colon cleansing diet you might participate in would be just to partake in a juice fast. You would receive nutrients but it would essentially flush out your colon.
Once you make these necessary diet changes, the next step is to add one or two tablespoons of psyllium and/or one teaspoon of bentotine to a glass of water daily. The bentotine is used to absorb toxins and Psyllium is used to push these undesirable substances out of your system.
Once your colon is cleaned out, you will want to maintain this new status of health. You can do so by eating all breads and meats in moderation and include plenty of vegetables and fruits in your diet. Additionally, you should try to choose certain foods that are higher in fiber.
Additional Colon Cleansing Strategy
Another way to cleanse your colon is to use a procedure called “colonics irrigation” which dates back to ancient times. Egyptians used to use this, and it still is very effective today.
This procedure is also known today as hydrotherapy. It usually involves treatment in a clinic or doctor’s office, which takes less than an hour.
The first session of colon hydrotherapy usually involves the receipt of a massage in the patient’s lower abdomen area. This is the first step in the process of eliminating harmful substances and feces stuck in the colon.
Then, a small disposable plastic tube is inserted into the rectum. Through this sterile tube warm water is irrigated into the colon.
This procedure is usually literally quick and painless. The only sensation most patients feel is the warmth of the water being pumped into their system.
The colonic irrigation treatment usually works best with a colon cleansing fast or other colon cleansing diet. Often several visits are scheduled to help make sure that the colon cleansing procedure is complete.
