Tonsillitis Cure | Natural Herbal Treatment | Tonsillitis Ayurvedic Remedies

Tonsillitis is a common enough affliction, especially in childhood. It is caused by an inflammation of the tonsils bought on by coming into contact and thus contracting an external infection.

At one time the only cure practiced was the immediate and total removal of the afflicted area and whilst this is still not uncommon, if the patient suffers from persistent bouts then the tonsils will still be removed, these days there are many herbal remedies and treatments that can both alleviate the condition and prevent further outbreak.

Symptoms of Tonsillitis

  • Sore throat
  • It is painful to swallow
  • Headache
  • Fever
  • Chill
  • Enlarged glands in the throat and/or neck
  • A change or total loss in voice

The tonsils form part of our immune system, they are to wash away and prevent infection getting into the inner system via the throat. Thus tonsillitis can be considered as a disorder and disruption to the immune system and can and should be treated as such.

Ayurvedic Causes of Tonsillitis

Tonsillitis is an infection caused by a toxin condition bought to a head by a loss of vitality within the sufferer, resulting from exposure to a chill or another external airborne infection.

The tonsils become inflamed and enlarged and are thus unable to chase away the build-up of negative toxins that occur as per normal.

In more serious cases this build-up of toxins can infect the bloodstream and bring on other disorders such as constipation as the toxins have in effect nowhere else to go.

Preventions for Tonsillitis

Tonsillitis is an infection caught from outside of the body and is brought about by coming into contact with bacteria. So very simple things like making sure you wash your hands well before food preparation stops the spread of infection and disease.

A good fitness regime is also essential, as infections such as tonsillitis tend to only attack and defeat unhealthy, run down bodies. So keep yourself fit and maintain a general tone of well-being.

Regular yoga and breathing exercises will also help with this.

Ayurvedic diet as remedy for tonsillitis

Due to the inflammation and the difficulty in swallowing brought about by a dose of tonsillitis, initially the only food that can be consumed is liquid and the sufferer should stick to fruit juices and liquidized raw vegetables to make sure health and vitamin intake is maintained in other areas and strength is kept up

Another recommendation for this stage of recuperation is to gargle warm salt water a couple of times daily. The minerals will help to shift the negative toxins that obstruct the passageways and prohibit the functioning of the tonsils.

As recovery begins the sufferer should return to a well balanced diet with particular empthasis on protein rich foods, vegetables, grains and fat.
