Pharyngitis Remedies Natural Cure | Ayurvedic Herbal Pharyngitis Treatment

Pharyngitis is a very common disease and for all intents and purposes is basically just a sore throat and should be treated as such.

It is an inflammation of the mucous membranes that line the pharynx and is an infection on its’ own or as a symptom of another like a cold or influenza or more serious diseases as measles and diphtheria or even in the most extreme and rare cases leukemia.

They are fairly easy to stave off and even easier to rid yourself of.

Ayurvedic Causes of Pharyngitis

According to Ayurvedic philosophies an infection such as pharyngitis affects the pitta balance in one’s body.

The pitta is the biological fire within the body and disruption to it causes afflictions to the digestive system such as pharyngitis.

This inability to properly digest food leads to a lack of nutrients within the digestive system, which in turn leads to body weakness and lack of vitality. This situation only allows pharyngitis and other such conditions to flourish and so Pitta must be re-balanced and returned to full function as quickly as possible so healing can take place.

Ayurvedic Diet as Remedy for Pharyngitis

As the membranes in the sufferers’ throat have become swollen when you have contracted the virus, in the more severe outbreaks swallowing can be problematical. So a healthy liquid diet of fruit juices and raw vegetables should be followed, to feed the body sufficient nutrients to aid wellness and to keep the body strong during the feverish period of the illness.

According to the Ayurvedic teachings observing such a diet also induces fasting which in itself can cleanse the internal systems of negative toxins and infections and this too is very beneficial in returning the patient to good health. Though it goes without saying that over fasting can be very dangerous and any such carrying out of it should be done with the utmost care.

Once the more severe symptoms have subsided and the sufferer is on the way back to full wellness once more they should start adding healthy foodstuffs like seeds, grains, nuts, fresh fruits and vegetables to induce the protein required to continue rebuilding both the body’s outer and inner strength.

Also during pharyngitis the sufferer should gargle with warm salty water twice daily, as it contains both the minerals to both ensure well-being and also to unblock the passageways in the throat.
