Types of Green Tea

Green tea comes in many types and it also depends on where it was grown and produced at. Most green tea is produced in places throughout Asia because of the climate needed for it to grow to the potency that gives it the taste it has. There’s Japanese green tea, Korean green tea, Chinese green tea, Sri Lankan green tea, Decaf green tea, and herbal green tea. These different types of green teas go through different processes to give it the tastes they have which makes the teas unique in taste and flavor. Some green teas have a mild taste while others have a bit of a stronger flavor.

It all depends on the taste of the individual drinking it. Most Asians prefer a more bold flavor to their teas versus the western side of the world that may prefer a more milder flavor. It all depends on the type of tea being made some teas are best suited for food and others are made for health properties such as hunger control and weight loss. Most people have to be one to like tea to really appreciate the flavor of a good tea, and it also depends on the level of flavor a person prefers in terms of the type of green tea they’re drinking.

Most people like a mix between bold and mild that has a unique taste to it and works well with food since Asians like a lot of different kinds of flavor to the foods they eat and usually will pair a good tea with whatever they’re eating to bring out the flavor in their foods. Green tea is grown in areas where it’s not populated by a lot of people and can get access to a lot of rain since Asia has a lot of monsoon periods which helps tea crops grow faster where in some parts of the world tea is grown in hot climates where even the growing process can actually effect the flavor of the tea.

Chinese green tea is grown more for the health properties than actually grown for people to drink with food. Whatever the case maybe green tea is flavored differently ranging from a sweet, tangy or a mix of mild and bold flavors even adding fruit to the mix to give it a sweet flavor to it. Some types of green teas are also becoming popular with coffee shops like Starbucks, Caribou Coffee, and Gloria Jean’s since many are ordering drinks like green tea chai and others that are either hot or cold.

Yet the various kinds of green tea that’s out there is in fact becoming increasingly popular with the young twenty and thirty something crowd that are starting to get away from drinking a lot of coffee and drinking something that doesn’t make one jittery and nervous. Many people also have to watch their caffeine intake because of the fact that it can also increase one’s heart rate and blood pressure if some people are taking medications that can interfere with cardiovascular health.

This is a concern with people who don’t want to be drinking caffeine all the time because after a while the body can get immune to the effects of caffeine so it can make you tired faster. Tea can actually be healthy for you and doesn’t take much to give it flavor and you don’t have to worry about high calorie intake or any other additives that many people are concerned with in today’s standards of how food is prepared.
