Green Tea on Oprah

Oprah did a show back in 2004 about green tea and had a guest doctor by the name of Dr. Nigel Perricone. Oprah has joined the bandwagon since having Dr.Perricone on the show and is talking about all the healthy benefits of green tea as the good doctor explained to her. Again the benefits are positive in the eyes of many who swear by it enhancing the immune system, building stronger bones, and decreasing cancer risks are just a few. The biggest buzz is about green tea’s ability to win the evergrowing battle with weight.

Studies on green tea continue to reach the same conclusions and hypotheses. Green tea assists the body in appetite suppression, helps to burn more calories, and works to increase your body's energy production meaning to utilize metabolism structure better. By increasing activity and decreasing your caloric intake, weight loss becomes a natural process with green tea and again that’s only with diet and exercise which Oprah is a fervent supporter of since she has been seen for years dealing with her issues with weight that’s been a public battle for her.

The only catch with studies like this is that with green tea you would have to drink it daily. Experts point out that a person would have to drink a few quarts of green tea daily to obtain these positive benefits. When in reality who has the time to prepare and drink 12-15 cups of green tea each day many would get sick drinking the stuff after two or three glasses.

Oprah wouldn’t back something with her name on it if it didn’t work and knowing her she’s never really mentioned anything about green tea since she’s got Dr. Mehmet Oz on her show every week discussing all kinds of health questions. She’s never really put her name officially on a product that she really isn’t even using.

In a way it doesn’t make a lot of sense because anytime Oprah backs something pertaining to health it has to be something she’s actually doing or using herself to endorse it. It sounds like many who saw Oprah’s 2004 show actually thought she was endorsing the use of green tea when in fact it’s never come up again and she’s never put her name to any green tea product or the use of the product in general.

This sets a lot of these sites using her likeness saying she’s endorsing the use of green tea when in fact she’s not mentioning it since having Dr. Oz on her show every week since last season. Which goes to show she doesn’t endorse this product and if she did it would have been covered with Dr. Oz in last season’s show if she was a regular user of the green tea product(s) that are currently out here right now.

This does not help a lot of these companies that are trying to capitalize on something that she herself has not personally endorsed and is still using at this time. It would be wise to really look up legitimate information that specifically stipulates Oprah actually endorsing the use of green tea as a part of her diet regimen.

This is where the confusion comes in when people don’t pay attention to a celebrity of whether they endorse the product they have on a show or not. It’s best to take some things on a website at face value if you’re unsure of the actual endorsement by Oprah about using green tea in your diet.
