Weight Loss Food
There is no food that will solely provide instant, gratifying weight loss. One must understand that the energy created by food intake must be lower than the total energy needed by the body, in order to create a weight loss effect. There are, however, some foods that will aid the body in shedding the pounds.
Foods high in fiber are considered helpful for losing weight due to the high fiber content helping to fill up the stomach quicker, causing a person to eat less. Another area to aid in losing weight are foods that are low in fat. Containing more than twice the amount of energy than carbohydrates or protein, fat raises calorie intake due to the high energy levels it adds to a body. Nutritionally dense foods, especially those with some of the B vitamins, help to increase energy levels in the sense that it makes a person want to get physically active. Many foods with a high water content help create a weight loss. Two-fold benefits come from high-water content foods- not only are they most likely lower in calories due to their large water content but thewater helps to cleanse out the body.
On the other side are foodsthat hinder weight loss and should be avoided. For instance, high sodium foods cause water retention in the body and thus can cause added weight due to keeping excess water in. Another area to work against weight loss would be processed foods made with refined sugars since it leads to extra calories with no benefits or nutritional value.
In short, foods that aid in weight loss are fresh natural foods, nutritionally dense, high in fiber content, low in sodium, low in refined sugars, low in fat and low in calories. Many good foods for weight loss should contain complex carbohydrates, high water content, high quality protein and high fiber content.

Eating right is a way of life and health must come from healthy foods. While most people know fruits and vegetables are the true heroes to a healthy diet, there are some fruits and vegetables that are considered extra special.
These are starting with the greens family - spinach, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, collard greens and bok choy. Usually high in folate, a B vitamin, dark leafy green vegetables help send fuel to cells to help burn energy. Next up is the red family including pink grapefruit, red bell peppers, tomatoes and watermelon. These help to cleanse the body and generally include high water contents furthering to reduce water retention and water weight in the body. The purple family is known for anthocyanins that give their unique colors and may help ward off heart disease and lower risk of cancer. The orange family may help with many different areas but includes improving immune function, aiding in cleansing the body. Lastly, is the white family, containing anthoxanthins and allicin, helping to lower blood pressure and protecting against cancers. Some fruits and vegetables, although not directly aiding in weight loss, can often work together to increase your chances of weight loss.
