Home Remedies for Obesity
There are several home remedies known of for the treatment of obesity. A few of these will be briefly covered in this article.
- One natural, home remedy is lime-juice honey. It should contain one teaspoon of fresh honey mixed with the juice of one-half of a lime in a glass of lukewarm water. Fast on a water mixture at regular intervals,
- Another treatment at home is to use a trifala supplement. Made with a combination of herbs called amalaki, bibbitaki and haritaki, it is an extremely potent mixture that tones the bowel and restores normal function.
- Jujube leaves, or Indian plum, are also mentioned as a treatment for obesity. Soak a handful of leaves overnight in water and drink the infused water in the morning on a, preferably, empty stomach. Treatment should be continued for at least one month to reap best results.
- Cabbage is considered an excellent remedy for obesity. Tartaric acid present in this vegetable is a valuable chemical preventing the conversion of sugar and other carbohydrates into fat. Simply substitute a cabbage salad for a meal to stay slim.
- Yet another home remedy for obesity is the use of tomatoes. In place of a breakfast meal, one or two tomatoes eaten for a couple of months works in what is considered a safe way to lose weight and add essential food elements for health.
- Finger Millet is anannual plantwidely grown as a cereal in the arid areas of Africa and Asia. This plant aids in slowing digestion, in turn making carbohydrates take longer to be absorbed by the body. Also the desire to eat is curbed and therefore reduces food intake and calories ingested, all while introducing vitamins and minerals to prevent malnutrition despite low food intake.
- Another home remedy for obesity would be mint. A mint chutney(chopped fruit or vegetable with a variety of sweet and spicy seasonings and/or condiments)eaten along with meals is also beneficial to losing weight.

- Drinking green tea daily will help in reducing weight. Green tea boosts the metabolism to work as a diet aid.
- Eatingvegetablesand fruits in general and adding exercise to one's day should be enough for one to lose weightsafely. As with any diet programs, discussing plans or intentions with one physician is alwaysa good idea.
